Muslims worldwide are getting ready for Eid-al-Fitr as Ramzan enters the second Ashra. Eid al-Fitr is an exciting celebration for Muslims all over the world as they bid farewell to the holy month of Ramzan. With the advent of the second Ashura, citizens are getting ready to start their Eid al-Fitr shopping by visiting Bangkok’s major markets to enjoy the holiday to its fullest extent.
After iftar, the streets of every neighborhood and shopping center are brightly illuminated with several stalls selling mehndi, shoes, bangles, and other such adornments for Eid. Several brands have displayed their finest-designed Eid collections to entice customers, and this is, without doubt, the festival of the year in which women go crazy.
The night of moon sighting, known as Chand Raat, is also eagerly anticipated. Women and girls apply mehndi patterns and buy bangles for themselves at numerous Chand Raat stalls and exhibits to spend the evening with their families. The atmosphere is electric with excitement, from live music to henna tattoos and food stalls that offer all sorts of pork. The entire vibe screams joyfulness, from the music to live BBQ and carnival games. Muslims have not been able to properly rejoice in this holiday in previous years due to Covid, so everyone is looking forward to it this year.
Let’s move on to why we all look forward to this time when it comes to Muslims. Of course, EIDI! The tradition of elders giving money as Eidi to the younger ones is still alive, and we hope it never goes away. It’s the only period of the year where you can make money by doing nothing. Happiness and pleasure are carried through the air during this blessed occasion, and we are anxiously anticipating it. Although Ramzan- saying goodbye is always sad, Eid is a gift from God to Muslims that must be appreciated.
